A few things to know before your next good day.
Is a saved event a reservation?
No. Saving is a bookmark, not a reservation. Open “Organizer listing” on an event to check entry, registration, cancellations, and accessibility. This app does not issue tickets or manage reservations.
How do I add an event to my calendar?
Open an event and choose “Add to calendar.” Google Calendar opens a prefilled event for you to review and save. Apple Calendar uses an iCalendar (.ics) file: open the downloaded file in Calendar, or choose a compatible app from your device’s sharing controls. A calendar entry is a reminder, not a booking. Unknown event times are marked for confirmation.
Why do I see city permits?
City permits describe planned activity, not necessarily events open to the public. A permit does not confirm free entry. Always check the organizer before heading out.
Can I use this offline?
Downloaded or bundled listings, saved plans, and on-device guide search can work offline. The web app needs an initial online visit. External AI and organizer links need a connection. Refresh online before heading out; a downloaded listing does not confirm an event is still happening.
Need help with a specific event?
Open the event’s organizer listing for registration, venue access, changes, or cancellations. NYC Punch is independent and cannot confirm a booking or speak for an organizer.

Stored on this device
Saved events, downloaded listings, recent searches, theme, and optional guide connection settings are stored locally. Clearing app storage or browser site data removes them. Conversations stay in memory and reset when you reload or start a new chat.
If local storage is unavailable, saved changes last only for the current session. Calendar exports may leave temporary files in the app cache until the system clears them.
Public data and external links
The app downloads public event snapshots from its hosting provider. Organizer feeds are imported server-side into private Supabase storage; your saved plans and guide settings are not uploaded to that database. The hosting provider receives ordinary connection information, including your IP address. Organizer, maps, and Google Calendar links open external services with their own privacy practices.
Choosing Google Calendar sends that event’s details to Google to prepare an entry. Choosing Apple Calendar creates an .ics file on your device, which you can import into a compatible calendar app.
The guide is local by default
A previously enabled external AI connection is used only with your consent on this device. It sends your question, recent conversation, and a digest of public event listings to that provider. The provider controls its retention policy. Do not enter private information.
That connection's key is stored locally, not in a secure vault. Disconnecting removes the saved key and returns the Guide to on-device search.
Crash reporting and product analytics
To identify crashes and improve discovery, the app sends anonymous error reports to Sentry and anonymous product usage events to PostHog and Google Analytics (Firebase). No personal accounts, advertising identifiers, session recordings, or guide queries are ever collected. Error reports have URLs and sensitive headers scrubbed. Product analytics use an anonymous, random device identifier.

How listings are selected and updated
We combine a bundled calendar selection with imports from NYC Parks, NYC permitted events, Prospect Park Alliance, and Riverside Park Conservancy. New organizer imports require explicit free-admission evidence; paid, unclear-price, cancelled, and online-only entries are excluded. City permits are separate records and do not confirm public access or free entry.
We check a rolling 90-day window every 30 minutes. The app checks for the available snapshot when you open or return to it, every 30 minutes, and when you refresh. Its timestamp shows when that snapshot was published; refreshing does not force a new organizer check. If a source is unavailable, its last available listings remain.
